 What is a Strategic Partner?

Grace has entered into a special relationship with three ministries around the world that we call our strategic partners. These are ground-breaking ministries led by high-capacity, humble, indigenous leaders whom we strongly need to learn from as a church. They are ministries that have taken our breath away at both the scope of the work that they do and the depth at which they minister. Strategic partners are on the cutting edge of God’s Kingdom work and we want Grace people engaged so they can be part of God’s Kingdom work around the world. We want to be changed, but we also believe we have a responsibility to be part of the solution to some of the horrific injustices of our day. Our strategic partners give us the opportunity to be part of the solution by serving with them in some of the biggest issues our world is facing such as HIV/AIDS, orphans, education, poverty, and racism.

What is a Frontline Ministry Partner?

Grace partners with like-minded organizations that reveal God’s Kingdom in the world. These local and international ministries provide opportunities for Grace attendees to become actively involved in living out their faith. There are three types of ministries within Frontline:

  1. Missions Movements Led by Vocational Missionaries: God calls some to vocational ministry in various ways around the world and to a dependence upon God and others for their financial provision. These people not only challenge our faith, but also pioneer new paths and ministries that reveal God and His Kingdom more fully to the world.  As a local community, this partnership allows us to share in their ministries through prayer, finances, and to physically join them at times for mutual encouragement and to assist with ministry ventures.

  2. Start-Up Ministries: Oftentimes, individuals have great ideas for ministries, but need additional resources and direction to take that idea and turn it into a reality. Frontline Ministries provides an incubator for these ideas that includes various forms of support and consultation with the goal of helping individuals outline and begin to implement their ministry plan.

  3. Existing Ministries: By joining Frontline, existing ministries will enter into a partnership with Grace which includes clear expectations for the ministry and Grace Community Church. This relationship provides heightened visibility within Grace for existing ministries and access to the strengths that Grace has to offer. In doing this, Grace asks each ministry that participates as a Frontline Ministry provide opportunities for Grace attendees to get involved.

How does a ministry become a partner?

Strategic partnerships rise up organically through current partnerships or due to Grace's desire to become involved in a particular area of Kingdom work as a church. As a result, most partnerships begin through Frontline Ministries. To become a Frontline Ministry, interested ministries must go through an application process. To begin this process, an individual must be willing to serve as the “sponsor” of the organization. A sponsor is the liaison between the ministry and Grace. To serve in this role, the sponsor needs to have the capacity and willingness to advocate for the ministry at Grace and create opportunities for Grace attendees to get involved. The sponsor must attend Grace and be part of the Covenant Community, Grace’s form of membership.
