Step 1: Attend the Pursuit series
The first step in connected with Men of Grace is to attend the Pursuit. This occurs four times a year on Monday night and Saturday morning in September, November, January and March. Each Pursuit focuses on a particular area of interest to men using a combination of teaching, panel discussion, video segments, and table groups. It's open to everyone and a great way to start to meet up with the other men at Grace.
Step 2: Second Gears
Attend the Pursuit? Great! Time to kick it into Second Gear! These are quick four to six week follow-up groups increasing momentum by looking closer at some aspect of the Pursuit immediately preceding. They provide a needed next step for men who want to spend more time on something that gains their attention during the Pursuit. These groups sometimes continue as ongoing men’s groups or end when the next Pursuit begins.
Step 3: Take your pick!
There are other great ways to get involved with Men of Grace apart from our Pursuit and Second Gears:
Conquest
Conquest is a great way for guys to do outdoor events such as hiking, kayaking, whitewater rafting or biking while connecting and growing in their walk with God. These activities are designed for various levels of skill and conditioning. Conquest is currently on a break, but stay tuned for more information!
Ongoing Mentoring and Men’s Bible Study Groups
Meeting at various times in homes, coffee shops, offices or on site at Grace, there is a group for any man wanting to study the Bible and/or meet other men seeking to know and follow God. In addition we encourage men to build into the lives of other men who are newer in their journey with God. Periodic training sessions are provided so men can learn the value of being or having a mentor. Click here to find a group.
Service Arm
The “7” is a group of men who have answered the challenge to help those in need. The “7,” though more in number than just seven is based upon the original seven men chosen in Acts 6 to minister to the disenfranchised and most vulnerable people within the church. Working in cooperation with the Grace Care Ministry of Grace Community this ever increasing number of men load moving vans, paint, take care of household repairs, and provide other needed support for those who otherwise could not do so for themselves. For information contact Jay Chambers.
Special Events
Throughout the year Men of Grace will promote barbecues, Marriage and Financial seminars, retreats such as Mission Uprising or Lamplighters, the Messianic Seder, conferences such as the Willow Creek Leadership Conference and other stand alone events. These may be part of the Grace Community Church calendar or are specifically designed to remind men of their importance to God and how to live out His call in their lives. Watch the Navigator, Grace Mail and Men of Grace webpage for upcoming events.
Basketball
Join a team at your level of play along with a couple hundred other guys. Games are held in the church gym on Monday, Wednesdays and Thursdays from September through April. Contact Jeff Christie for more information.
