We hope that Grace attendees consider the leaders of their groups and teams to be their first providers of pastoral care. For those who are unconnected or for those who are experiencing a crisis that requires staff expertise, the Pastor on Call may be an appropriate resource. The Pastor on Call is available at the church on Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.. Call 317-848-2722 to schedule a phone or personal appointment.

Where Do I Start?
We understand that life can be overwhelming and sometimes a little extra guidance is needed. If you're a Grace attendee facing a personal or relationship challenge, here's how to get help:

1) Schedule an appointment: Grace Care offers a free assessment (one per family) with a professional counselor. Here are some guidelines to keep in mind when scheduling an assessment:

  • Couples are expected to attend together. Assessments can be scheduled back-to-back if necessary
  • If separate appointments for a couple are requested, there will be a $60 charge for the second appointment. This cost covers the assessor's additional time.
  • Minors under the age of 18 require a parent's written permission prior to the assessment.
  • Participants who cancel an assessment with less than 12 hours notice may reschedule their assessment at a charge of $60.
  • A signed consent form is required in order to have an assessment. Those who will be receiving an assessment will be given a copy of this consent form to sign prior to their assessment.

Request an Assessment

2) Take the next steps: Once you've had your assessment, Grace Care staff will review your assessment and recommend some next steps to help you.

Can I receive financial assistance for counseling?
If you have received an assessment and Grace Care recommends professional counseling, you may be eligible for our True Cross/True Shield option.

True Cross/True Shield is run in partnership with several professional counselors. These counselors have agreed to reduce their fees and Grace Care contributes a counseling subsidy, resulting in a 50% savings. This option is available for a maximum of twelve sessions per family and participants over the age of 21 are required to attend the 180Xchange (exceptions must be approved by the Director of Care).

If you prefer to find a counselor yourself, you can view our professional counselors list (PDF).

If you are looking for some lower-cost counseling, you can view a list of lower-cost counselors (PDF).
