Where did you go to school?
I graduated from high school in Basking Ridge, N.J., received a B.S. from the University of Kentucky, and M.Ed from the University of Louisville, and post-grad at Purdue.
Tell us how you became involved with Grace
Bob and I visited many churches when we moved to Carmel in 1990, praying as to where God would have us grow and serve.
We were at Grace the very first weekend in 1991, listening to the very first message from Dave, “This Church Must Die”, and we knew that this was the place God would have us “die to ourselves” and live for Him! I began to serve in the children’s ministry from the first weekend wherever I was needed. In the course of a few short years, I had the privilege of loving children in every age group. I was invited on staff in 1993 as a part-time director of early childhood and then moved to the elementary area two years later. I gradually moved from part-time to full-time, and accepted God’s calling to the pastor’s position in 2001!
What do you do around Grace?
It is a blessing to serve our children from birth through fifth grade, as well as the staff and volunteers who love these children into growing relationships with Jesus!
Tell us about your family
Bob and I have been married for over 27 years. We met in a swimming pool in Louisville, KY, when Bob “allowed” his raft to bump into me while I was swimming laps! Bob manages a consulting company from our home. We have three children and two grandchildren. Our daughter, Heather, is mother to Austin and Ashley. Our daughter, Jessica, is attending Purdue. Our son, Scott, attends the University of Kentucky.
What is your favorite movie of all time?
Don’t have one.
What is your favorite TV show?
LOST
What is your favorite book?
Besides the Bible, right now it is Breathing Space by Heidi Neumark.
Any special talents to share?
Not special, but I play piano (I used to have 25 piano students), speed read (I devour books), ski (Bob was on ski patrol for years), and swim. I USED to be a balance beam and broad jump queen, in my youth. OH! I am AMAZING at putting puzzles together and playing cards, especially bridge!!!
From a ten-year old at Grace, what's your favorite cheese?
Blue! I love the taste of mold!
What has been the biggest surprise in ministry (both good and bad)?
Good? I love everything about it, even the hard stuff! That is a surprise because I thought I would dislike conflict, but I have grown to see what a gift from God it can be for everyone involved.
Bad? So many people, not enough time to spend with all of them!
